BANDA ACEH | ACEH INFO – Chairperson of the Syiah Kuala University Alumni Association (IKA USK) Amal Hasan, SE, MSi supports the New Student Academic and Character Development (Pakarmaru) program and invites USK alumni to take part in efforts to prepare USK students to take advantage of this event as a starting point for building an entrepreneurial spirit, so that later it will produce graduates who are able to take advantage of and create various job opportunities in the future.
This was conveyed by Amal Hasan when attending the National Public Lecture with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) of the Republic of Indonesia, Sudaryono at the AAC Dayan Dawood Building, Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
The former Director of Bank Aceh revealed that the existence of USK alumni who are spread across various business sectors with a very wide business network has strategic potential and can be optimized as an entry point for training and building the entrepreneurial character of students.
“The connectivity and collaboration of IKA USK between alumni from various study programs with the USK alma mater in an integrated manner can help students in various ways, for example in the form of educational and literacy socialization activities, training and mentoring activities, facilitating and opening various access to internship programs and access to capital,” he explained.
Amal Hasan believes that if this is realized, then efforts to increase the absorption target of USK graduates in various sectors will be faster to be realized. The program to create the target of the growth of young entrepreneurs programmed by the campus can be realized in a measurable manner.
“We can build independent student characters and not only depend on the hope of becoming a state civil servant after graduating from campus,” added Amal Hasan, who is also the Chairperson of Perhumas Aceh.
The man who once served as Director of Bank Aceh continued, there are around 183,000 USK alumni from various study program backgrounds and take part in various professions, and this number continues to grow on average every year between 5,000 – 7,000 people graduate and graduate, this can be a strength for the government to manage it into resources that strengthen the fundamentals of regional development.
In addition, said Amal Hasan, who is also the Chairperson of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Syiah Kuala University (Ikafensy), added that IKA USK will continue to contribute in establishing partnerships between the campus and alumni. The solidity and independence of IKA USK institutionally will be able to make a positive contribution to the USK Alma Mater.
USK Rector Prof. Marwan in his remarks at the National Lecture event with Deputy Minister Sudaryono said, there are many challenges in the era of globalization, problems are so complex, students must be able to adapt quickly, therefore USK equips students to deal with it by preparing student entrepreneurship, so that they can go down to the business world in various sectors including the oil sector.
“USK strives to foster the spirit of student entrepreneurship through the 1,000 young entrepreneurs program. This program involves various parties, including alumni through business mentoring and entrepreneurship expo. This national public lecture also aims to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of students,” explained Prof. Marwan.
Meanwhile, Vice Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono in his public lecture invited students to have a vision in estimating challenges and opportunities, making every opportunity to do positive things.
“Do something because of three things, money, knowledge, and reward, if one of these three things does not exist in a job, then leave it, do not waste time, the desire to pursue ideals must be greater than anything else,” Sudaryono said.
Also present at the lecture were member of Commission IV of the House of Representatives from Aceh TA Khalid, Chairman of the USK Senate Prof. Abubakar, USK Vice Chancellor I Prof. Agussabti, USK Vice Chancellor III Prof. Dr. Mustanir, Head of the Aceh Agriculture and Plantation Office Cut Huzaiman, as well as a number of officials from the Aceh Working Unit (SKPA).
