BANDA ACEH | ACEH INFO – PON XXI 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra is the right momentum to unite brothers throughout the archipelago of the PON XXI Contingent in a spirit of togetherness, after the frenzy of holding the Presidential Election in February.
This was conveyed by the Chairman of the Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Lieutenant General (Ret.) Marciano Norman, in his remarks at the inauguration of the PON XXI Media Center, at the Hermes Palace Hotel Ballroom, Sunday, September 8, 2024.
“PON XXI 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra will be remembered as the nation’s unifying PON, because we just held the Presidential Election last February. God willing, the differences in political views that have occurred so far will be reunited at PON XXI. Together we will compete with a spirit of togetherness, by upholding sportsmanship,” Marciano said.
The people of Aceh are an important part of uniting people throughout the archipelago through the spirit of sport, according to the tagline ‘United We Are Champions’. Therefore, our appreciation goes to the Pj governor of Aceh, who has organized this activity very well, starting from the arrival of contingents at the airport, to lodging and to the venue location.
Chairman of KONI Center: PON XXI is a Nation Unifying PON
“With the support of all elements of society and our shared commitment, God willing, PON XXI will be a better PON organization than before,” Marciano said.
Safrizal ZA, invited all levels of the Aceh Government and PB PON XXI Aceh to prepare this four-year event successfully.
“We strongly agree with what was conveyed by the Chairman of the Central KONI. PON XXI is our momentum to unite all components of the nation’s children, through a spirit of togetherness, with a spirit of competing full of sprotifitas,” Safrizal said.
The Pj governor also appreciated the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information, which has supported the implementation of PON XXI by establishing the PON XXI Medua Center.
“Our high appreciation goes to the Ministry of Communication and Information, which has supported PON XXI by facilitating the creation of the Media Center. We invite media colleagues to take advantage of all existing facilities and as reporting every PON XXI activity in a solid, valid and informative manner,” Safrizal appealed.
“In a digital era with multiple inputs, of course solid and valid information and confirmation are needed. God willing, through the cold hands of the journalists, PON XXI will become a stir with various PON news and all other news trinkets,” said the governor.
Safrizal is optimistic that PON XXI will produce potential athletes who can speak at international events.
“PON XXI is not the end, but the beginning of the struggle towards sports events at the international level and bringing the fragrant name of the region and the name of Indonesia in the international world,” he said.
Deputy Minister of Information Communication of the Republic of Indonesia, Nezar Patria, believes PON XXI is a very appropriate momentum to unite all differences after the Presidential Election.
“PON XXI’s tagline ‘United We Are Champions’ is very appropriate to unite all differences. All will be reflected in the warmth of the competition that takes place with the spirit of brotherhood and the spirit of togetherness,* said Nezar.
In accordance with his field, the Deputy Minister explained that his ministry will fully support PON XXI, especially successful publication with good network support.
The Deputy Minister added, because PON XXI was held in two regions, the Ministry of Communication and Information established two media centers. In Aceh, the PON XXI Media Center is located at Hermes Palace Hotel and in North Sumatra at Santika Diandra Hotel, which are connected to each other.
“We are preparing all available resources for the success of PON XXI, especially Information Success. We have also maximized the 5 G network.
