Grab the Gold Medal, Nurul Akmal Breaks PON XXI Record

BANDA ACEH | ACEH INFO – International lifter from Aceh, Nurul Akmal made another surprise. Not only did he win the gold medal with a total force 248 kg, but also broke the National Sports Week record (PON).

Competing at Seuramoe Indonesian Weightlifting Association (PABSI) Aceh, Harapan Bangsa Stadium Complex (SHB), Tuesday, 10 September 2024, Amel Nurul Akmal’s nickname competes in the women’s +87 kg class.

The igniter of the PON Fire in the Main Caldron Opening Ceremony PON XXI 2024 won the fourth gold medal for the Aceh Weightlifting Team.

She also broke the PON record in the clean and jerk with a total weight of 143 kg, surpassing the previous record of 142 kg.

The silver medal was won by Jihan Syahrini, an athlete from Jambi, with a total force of 225 kg, and the bronze medal by Rizka Oktaviana from West Kalimantan with a total force of 219 kilograms.

“Amel’s success in winning the gold medal at PON 2024 is also a new record. She is the only female weightlifter from Aceh who has successfully won gold medals in three consecutive PONs,” said Head Coach of the Weightlifting Team, Effendi Eria.

Amel has been a gold medalist since PON XIX 2016 in West Java, PON XX 2021 in Papua, and PON XXI 2024 in Aceh-North Sumatra.

At the competition arena, Amel’s supporters crowded the location while cheering. The roar of cheers intensified when Amel perfectly lifted 143 kilograms in the clean and jerk. A new record was created from Seuramoe PABSI Aceh, Banda Aceh City, the capital of Serambi Makkah.

The previous record was also set by Nurul Akmal when competing at the Cenderawasih University Auditorium, Abepura, at PON XX in 2021 Papua.

Chairman of KONI Aceh, H. Kamaruddin Abu Bakar or often called Abu Razak, was present directly in the arena to encourage Amel, the Aceh Srikandi who has made the region and country proud several times in various sports events, both at national and international levels.

“Alhamdulillah, today Nurul Akmal again gave pride to the people of Aceh. KONI Aceh expressed its highest appreciation. Nurul Akmal’s contribution to Aceh really cannot be valued with anything. We will make every effort, be it in the form of cash bonuses or other awards,” concluded Abu Razak.

Opening PON EXPO XXI, Aceh Government Encourages Economic Strengthening of MSMEs

Aceh Deputy Regional Secretary, Azwardi officially opened the Aceh-North Sumatra PON EXPO XXI in Banda Aceh, Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

In his remarks, Azwardi said that PON XXI is not only a prestigious sporting event, but also an important momentum to encourage regional economic growth, especially the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector.

In the event, which was attended by stakeholders and Aceh MSME players, Azwardi revealed that the government is committed to utilizing the momentum of PON XXI as a means to introduce Aceh’s rich culture through MSME products to the wider community, both nationally and internationally.

“PON XXI is a golden opportunity to not only improve Aceh’s image in the national eyes, but also strengthen the local economy through MSMEs. We hope that this activity will be able to increase sales and competitiveness of local products, as well as open wider market opportunities for Acehnese MSME players,” said Azwardi.

Azwardi emphasized that MSMEs play a vital role in Aceh’s economy. Based on the data presented, MSMEs account for 99% of the total businesses in Indonesia and absorb most of the workforce.

Therefore, the nine-day PON EXPO XXI is expected to be a place for MSME players to exchange information, increase capacity, and expand marketing networks.

This UMKM Expo activity is very important to improve the skills, promotion, and marketing of our UMKM products. Through PON EXPO, MSME players can interact directly with potential buyers, introduce their products, and learn effective marketing strategies.

The Government of Aceh is committed to continuously supporting the growth of the MSME sector with various strategic policies and programs. These include improving access to financing, skills training, product promotion, as well as creating a conducive business climate.

“With support from the government and the private sector, we hope Aceh’s MSME sector will continue to grow and become the backbone of a stronger economy,” he added.

On that occasion, Azwardi invited the entire community to participate in the success of PON XXI. He emphasized that this PON is a stage for Aceh’s pride, not only in terms of sports, but also in advancing local industries rooted in regional culture and traditions.

“PON XXI is a celebration of sportsmanship, unity and diversity. Let us utilize this momentum to showcase our pride as a nation and boost the local economy through MSMEs,” he concluded.

Amal Hasan Expects Aceh Hapkido Athletes to Win Medals in the Remaining Matches

The Hapkido medal race is still ongoing at GOR KONI Aceh. Hapkido Aceh athletes are expected to achieve the best achievements at the National Sports Week (PON) XXI Aceh-North Sumatra 2024. This hope was conveyed by the Chairman of Hapkido Aceh, Amal Hasan, SE, M.Si after watching the Hapkido Sports match at GOR KONI Aceh, Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

Amal Hasan, who is also the Chairman of the Hapkido Match Committee, explained that 59 athletes had competed, consisting of 29 men and 30 women. Today’s match, Wednesday, September 11, 2024, will fight 44 athletes, consisting of 37 male and 7 female athletes. They will compete in the Welter Men (-78Kg), Light Men (-72Kg), Bantam Men (-62Kg), High Jump Nak Bob Putra, Hyung Putra and Hyung Putri classes.

“We hope that Aceh Hapkido athletes can provide the best results for the region. Hapkido sports compete for 16 gold medals, 16 silver medals and 32 bronze medals. We as the host dropped 12 athletes, hopefully they can provide the best for the region, “hoped Amal Hasan.

Amal Hasan, who is also the Chairperson of Perhumas Aceh, detailed, from the matches that have taken place in the Men’s Hoshinsul category, the gold medal was won by Bayu Dwi Dedi Saputra and Rafi Rajendra from DI Yogyakarta, followed by Varrel Ibnu Farras S and Ramaditya Wiradhika P N from West Java who won silver medals.

Furthermore, Fatur Rohman Mudia M and Yosafat Alfamasale from Lampung won the Bronze Medal, Revaldo Andhika P and Muhatha Hibbanu M from Central Java won the bronze medal.

While in the Women’s Hoshinsul category, the Gold medal was won by Davinia Marvella Marsianus and Puspa Agustian from DI Yogyakarta, followed by Salwa Nazhira and Nadya Wycita Cyma from West Java who won the silver medal.

Then Berlian Chandra Kirana and Tiara Chandra Kirani from Lampung won the bronze medal, and Cassie Angeline Tanjaya and Julia Sinta from Riau Islands won the Bronze medal.

For the Open Hoshinsul category, the Gold medal was obtained by Awwabin Raihan S and Ihtifazhuddin Alhafizh from DI Yogyakarta, the silver medal was obtained by Made Dhamma Varo and Salwa Nazhira from West Java.

While the bronze medal was obtained by Ida Ayu Cinthya Dewi and Nia Wulandari from Lampung. Then Jefri Antoni Handoko and Andriansyah Agus Saputra from Central Java won the bronze medal.

The Daeryun-Class 67-72 Kg Midle Female category, the Gold medal was won by Glorya Venaya Emely Muntu from North Sulawesi, the silver medal was won by Ledy Devega Sagala from North Sumatra, Nadira Adilawati from West Sumatra and Mei Handayani from Central Java won the bronze medal.

In the Daeryun-Class 59-63 Kg Light Female category, the Gold medal was won by Devi Safitri from West Kalimantan, the silver medal was won by Jenifer Priscila Mamoto from North Sulawesi, and Kintan Armianata Dewi from Central Java and Mozandra Amarelvia Dewantari from Lampung won the bronze medal.

While in the Daeryun-Class +84 Kg Heavy Putra category, the Gold medal was won by Erwin Syah from Bangka Belitung, the silver medal was won by Giantoro from Central Java, Muhammad Rifan from Southeast Sulawesi and Yohanes Agung Budiman from DI Yogyakarta won the bronze medal.
